Check yourselves, idiots.
Gotta wonder if y'all Wenclairs doing this realize/understand what you're doing.
⚠️You're creating intimate/sexualized realistic, visual "fan art media" of underage characters. (Key word: VISUAL)⚠️
There’s a highly realistic AI-generated clip going around (actually there are others I've seen on TikTok) that shows Wednesday and Enid making out.
Even though Ortega and Myers are adults IRL, the characters of Wednesday and Enid are canonically 16 (y'all beat that into my head all the time). That means any realistic sexualized visual AI recreation of them — especially one that looks like live-action footage — is fucking illegal. This goes for ANY FANDOM, with ANY 🔞/minor characters.
It doesn’t matter that no real teenager was filmed; what matters is that it appears to show minors. It also doesn't matter that it's "just kissing"; it still qualifies as a graphic/visual sexualized depiction of minors.
Under U.S. law, any realistic visual depiction of fictional minors in intimate acts/sexually explicit conduct, even if digital/AI, can be prosecuted as obscene child-sexual-abuse imagery (CSAM). You know, the "CSAM" that the anti-Kinktober kids have been screaming about for the past two weeks (except that writing isn't CSAM/CSEM).
Kissing might not be sexually explicit to us, but judgement falls on the ruling class/those in power, and we 🏳️🌈 and 🏳️⚧️ people are fighting against our own existence as being labeled obscene by the government (and a kiss between two girls is considered obscene and immoral by plenty of people in power around the world).
Regardless of where you live, this kind of media can put the original poster and anyone who reblogs or shares it at risk. To be very clear: People have been prosecuted in places like Australia, where the legal definition of CSAM is much broader. There, even realistic AI or digital images of fictional minors in a sexual or romanticized context can be treated as criminal possession or distribution. (And here it's a whole ass video. 🤦🏽♂️)
Don’t share or reblog the post (even to criticize it) but make sure others comprehend why this is not the same as ordinary fan art or fan fiction writing.
And fucking stop it, before you get yourselves and others in trouble. Stick to writing, or drawing (since the Wenclairs have the edge on artistic talent...for fuck's sake, this fandom doesn't need any more trouble & stupidity, and I don't think either Ortega or Myers would be amused by this).
P.S. I've been working on a larger project about this very subject (LGBTQ+ in current media relative to the Wednesday fandom and fan art/sexualized fan art of minor characters) for a couple of months, but it isn't finished. I do have a map of where sexualized fan art of LGBTQ+ minors is allowed, the code being green for legal, red for illegal, burnt orange for legally risky:
Oh hey, will you look at that.
