Ok, I'm just going to stop listing those things down, because they're all tied together anyway.
I hate that he seems to think he can just dictate what we are supposed to do. We are a freaking democracy, not a monarchy. Last night, he was insisting on watching Django Unchained even if we all wanted to watch The Lorax. He kept saying that it was a nice movie, and yes I understand that it's a nice movie. But he also has to take into account the fact that a) it isn't his house, b) only he wanted to watch it, and c) the TV had been on the entire day and we needed to rest it, if not to preserve the TV for the next day then out of respect to Sabs since it's her house. He's just selfish that way.
Oh! Another thing I failed to include in the list of things I dislike is his thing with Kira. Now, I have no idea what's going on between those two, but I have a feeling that Harveen appointed Kira to the position of Marketing VP because he has a crush on her and he just wants to keep working closely with her, since he was marketing VP last year. She's just a sophomore; I'm pretty sure that there were other more capable marketers in his team. It's just that he wanted to work with her because she was Chinese, like him.
Perhaps that's one of the reasons that Iversen hasn't bothered to show up at the meetings that much; he figured out that his VP was a year his junior. If I were in Iversen's position, I'd probably insulted. Iversen probably has had more marketing experience than Kira has. I'm not hating on Kira. It's just that I'm not sure appointing her to the position of Marketing VP was wise for our org. I think it would have been better if we had had JB and Iversen as AVP and VP for Marketing, respectively.
Another thing that also annoyed me was what he did during one of the breakout-into-committees sessions. The board split into the respective committees, and as we were discussing our projects, I saw out of the corner of my eye that he was just chatting with Kira. Andrew was making his rounds (I knew he would have made a better president) with each of the committees, but Harveen was just sitting there, talking to Kira. Later on, when my committee was finalizing things, I saw that he was just sleeping, beside Kira, on the rocking chair.
That really pissed me off. Here we all were, working out how we were going to improve LeaPs this coming year, and he was sleeping! How incredibly unprofessional of him!
