It's frustrating because I like a very specific kind of dog.. quiet and gentle with other animals but also intensely driven, sensitive and intuitive. It's set of qualities I've found in like, a few specific border collies but not really a set of qualities I'd attribute to them as a whole given their predisposition for SSA. I'm very limited by the size range I'm interested in (40 pounds or less) and need for herding ability so I... don't think the animal I'm looking for exists and I am frustrated.
Outside of the health concerns + coat CKCS really did check every single box for me when I was looking when I needed a SD prospect so it's really frustrating that I can't find a dog that even seems to comes that close this time around. It's why I've been thinking I might need to find just One Specific Dog but finding an adult with herding potential and that is cat safe is just.. Ugh I need a unicorn
