the bravest, best boy left us way too soon on tuesday, just 20 days after he was diagnosed with cancer. we didn't expect it at all, but his body started to betray him and it was obvious how tired he was. we spent the entire day in the garden he loves to nap in, feeding him and telling him how great he is, and that's where he was put to rest, with the last intact hippo toy we had left and one of my socks - because he always loved stealing those. he was my north star and my greatest source of joy, and the world has gotten a whole lot dimmer without him and his unshakeable, goofy enthusiasm in it. i miss him more than i could ever explain, and love him even more than that.

thanks for being so supportive and seeing him for the superstar he was and always will be. he would have loved all of you, too.

Took the dogs to the pool again. Zaku was thrilled. He started screaming in excitement when I was putting his jacket on, and when I helped him climb into the pool, and when I was throwing his squidoo into the pool. He also screamed when the other dogs were having their turn. He thinks we should get our own pool.

Spyro is getting more confident! She swam some more loop de loops and was comfortable on the mat. She isn't quiiiite ready to jump off the mat yet, but did a little hop when I assisted her. She was throwing herself at my kneecaps as I put on her jacket.

Kermit always wants to be included in whatever the other two are screaming about, so even though he does not like water, or being wet, or swimming, he demanded that I suit him up and put him in the pool. All right, buddy. I can't say that he had a good time but he was included and that's what is the most important to Himself.

Dog location: Northeast Georgia, just outside metro Atlanta and near the NC/TN/SC borders. TL;DR: Really sweet stray dog has ringworm; current foster is immune compromised; need someone to help by housing her for the duration of her treatment. Only need a short-term foster (approximately a month is the estimate for ringworm treatment? up to six weeks, I guess) and we can help find a permanent placement for her when her treatment is complete.

Details: Fantine is a stray dog we have been fostering for about the last month, she has a wonderful temperament (very sweet and trusting with people, quite resilient, friendly to all the dogs she has met) and is about a year and a half old. She has had all her vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm treatment and was spayed almost three weeks ago. and is healing up from it really well.

She's also ringworm positive, and I have some serious immune-related health conditions. The vet who diagnosed her was worried about her staying in the house with me even though she has been in quarantined in the laundry room and we are being very cautious about biosecurity.

Our local shelter is full and doesn't have the resources to help us right now. We really, *really* need help finding a place for her to finish her treatment. She has been started on oral and topical meds and is receiving anti-fungal baths. She's a really, really good and easy dog (or we wouldn't have fostered her at all) but it's not longer feasible to keep her here, and I don't know what to do. Feel free to reach out and ask me any additional questions if you have them. Willing to drive her somewhere if it will get her to a good foster. Thanks for reading.

please she is a really good dog and we cannot keep caring for her. another week of this and my partner is going to plunge into the caregiver burnout pit. please we really need help this is actively hurting us like this is an emergency and having a huge negative impact on our wellbeing

look man, i’m against all non-medically-necessary tail docking, but i am especially peeved by the stupid 1/3 dock they do on certain gundogs. like. that last third of tail cannot possibly be so huge of a hazard that it needs to be preemptively removed. what are we even doing. hello
