Repost @crossfit121212 • • • May is the Month of Lupus Awareness! A few of you may know that I've been living with Lupus since 2009 and in an effort to continue to raise awareness and to also lend some support to a local NGO, The Voice of Lupus Foundation, we're having a Lift For Lupus #WOD on Saturday 12th May starting at 8am (warm up 730). #putonpurple (the designated colour for Lupus Awareness) and come out in your numbers on Saturday to support, donate and workout with me. I'd also like to invite all of the other CrossFit Boxes, Local, Regional and International to do this WOD with us if they can. Why 5 rounds and 10 reps you may ask? Simply because World Lupus Day is celebrated every year on the 10th of the 5th Month (May). Rx weight: 105# F; 145#M; Intermediate: 85#F; 125#M; Scaled: 65#F; 85#M. The Voice of Lupus Foundation (VLF) is a non-profit organization established to foster greater awareness about lupus in Trinidad and Tobago. #Lupus is a chronic auto-immune disease that is often misunderstood because its symptoms vary among its victims. These symptoms include: chronic fatigue, severe joint and body pains, organ failure, skin rashes and photosensitivity – especially to sunlight. There is currently no cure for lupus and in this country, awareness is lacking. The VLF’s mission seeks to heighten public awareness of lupus and its impact, providing support to those individuals who have been diagnosed and are battling with lupus, as well as their families, friends and caregivers. Hope to see you Saturday! Hope you can do this one with me! ~ Coach MAG #crossfit #crossfitters #athletes #givingback #raisingawareness #lupuswarriors #lupusawareness #liftforlupus #livingwithlupus #crossfitcommunity #buildingstrongerathletes #buildingbetterathletes #courageneverfails ......
