he’s not far off. not when he might be needed, even if the empath KNOWS that the prince would not partake in relieving himself of any guilt or anger. paul wonders if somehow he wishes to remain beholden to all the devastation as if he deserves it. for the earthly god could not plead enough that he would never deserve such a fate. his own heart spins its own threads of anguish at the queen’s loss.
how this world lost such a bright light. all the thunderer has to do is tell him, give him consent and he can ease those burdens with his empathic abilities. he has no doubts the request will never come. what does he say? what CAN he say? so he doesn’t just yet. he’ll wait for his prince to make that first move and paul will take the seat beside him just to signify that he is there for him in this time of tragedy.
