so ik that tumblr is going to eat the res on this bc it’s a massive file but i wanted to post it anyway bc i’m really proud of it! i’ve been having terrible slumps & art blocks, and my mental health has been trash as usual so this is the first big piece i’ve finished in a while and i’m so happy with it. it’s the first time i tried to do smth with this much patterning digitally, and it took a lot of trial and frustration until i was happy with how all the different lil pieces looked in the end but overall it was really rewarding and i’m so happy that i did it!

nadzieja belongs to @bujianle - tysm for giving me such a delightful commission to do and being so heckin patient! i loved being able to do this. 💖

leiknir’s head hung low as he slowly shook it side to side, handing the pregnancy test to ekai. “it’s negative... again.” they had been trying for so long to have another child but for two years, every test came out negative — it must’ve been his own fault. “what if there’s something wrong with me? what if i can’t give you another child? what then?” leiknir couldn’t even look him in the eye as he spoke. the words he was saying hurt enough, he couldn’t bare to see the look on ekai’s face. all he wanted was for their family to feel complete. was that too much to ask for?
