Azmin jadi hero, selesaikan isu Kuil Sivan sejak belum merdeka

BATU CAVES, 3 Februari:

Akhirnya masalah Kuil Sivan, di Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya yang dikatakan berlarutan sejak sebelum merdeka selesai sepenuhnya selepas dua bulan Mohamed Azmin Ali dilantik menjadi Menteri Besar Selangor, sekaligus menyaksikan beliau diangkat sebagai “hero” malam tadi.

Penyelesaian dibuat selepas kerajaan PKR negeri Selangor meneliti laporan yang dibuat Jawatankuasa Rumah Ibadat Bukan Islam.

Menurut Azmin, kerajaan negeri mewartakan satu ekar tanah untuk pembinaan kuil berkenaan yang sebelum ini dibina tidak mengikut spesifikasi yang ditetapkan.

“Setelah berbincang dengan kerajaan negeri, pihak pengurusan kuil bersetuju untuk merobohkan struktur yang tidak mengikut spesifikasi sementara rundingan dijalankan untuk mewartakan tempat tersebut sebagai tempat ibadat bukan Islam.

“Setelah diteliti laporan Jawatankuasa Rumah Ibadat Bukan Islam dan maklum balas yang dikemukakan kepada kerajaan negeri, kita telah bersetuju untuk mewartakan satu ekar tanah di Bukit Gasing bagi tujuan pembinaan Kuil Sivan di mana keluasan bangunan yang dipohon pihak pengurusan dan sebahagian lagi digunakan untuk meletakkan kereta,” katanya selepas meninjau ambang sambutan Thaipusam 2015 di Batu Caves, Isnin malam.

Selain itu, tambah Azmin, terdapat sebuah cerun di kawasan berkenaan yang akan diselenggara oleh Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ).

Sempena sambutan Thaipusam 2015, kerajaan negeri Selangor turut menyalurkan sumbangan sebanyak RM320,000 yang diserahkan sendiri Mohamed Azmin kepada 20 wakil pengurusan kuil seluruh negeri itu.

I got a text from a friend about this link and I didn't read it until I got home. I couldn't even finish the article cause it was too painful. On Saturday, this mother and daughter were jogging and two men on a motorbike tried to rob them. The mum made her daughter run for safety and instead, placed herself between the robbers and her. As a result, she got stabbed 4 times and bled to death. Her last words were "I love you" to her daughter. This is not some story that got passed on via some website or some online prank. This is a true story that just happened a few days ago. I know this because my flatmate knows the daughter and they attend the same church. I have never felt so emotional reading an article before. I literally could not finish because I kept imagining my mother standing between me and these men who were wielding kitchen knives; sacrificing her own life for mine, without a moment's hesitation. This happened back home in the city where I attended college and my early university days. It's not some secluded park or dark street but a rather popular jogging spot. My heart goes out to this family that I don't know and to this poor girl who had to watch her mother slip away from her. I can't imagine this happening to anyone.

To lose a loved one due to a disease or accident is one thing, but to lose them at the deliberate actions of another human being is unimaginable.

Even if you don't usually do it, would you spare a moment to pray for this family? Cause I honestly think they need all the support and prayers they can get right now. Heart-wrenching.
