Initial Meeting

We met with Trevor to find out more about BUStation, looking specifically to find out more information about the branding and website areas of the project. Below are a list of questions and my notes from this session. ## Questions & Notes __Does BU station use facebook/twitter to market to people? Should it?__ *BUStation doesn't currently use facebook or twitter to promote itself, however it would be good to incorporate them in the future, perhaps building in some automatic tweeting when the stream goes live.* __Are there regular programs? Do these deserve their own pages/sections and descriptions? Would it be worth making "behind the scenes" features for these?__ *There's a regular lunch time program, and more programming planned. Having their own pages may work, but could lead to a very cluttered site.* __What are the reasons and motivations behind BU station?__ *Bournemouth didn't really have any local TV stations/content. Gap in the market.* __What was the reasoning behind the "BUStation" name? Have you considered changing it? Is there a new direction that a newer name should reflect?__ *We can change it. Most likely will due to poor SEO with bustation (bus station)* __What new content is being worked on right now? Can we get a definitive list of this content?__ *New content is being worked on* (Note: Never got definitive list). __What does BUStation do in one sentence?__ *Reports on happenings in Bournemouth* __Are there particular aspects of the current website that are failing? Why?__ *The livestream is very small and the site is generally a bit confusing to navigate*. __What vibe should people get when using the new BU station site?__ *It should be fresh/busy* __What would you want BU Station to be famous for?__ *Good local content* __Are there any words that shouldn't be associated with BUStation?__ *Nope*. __What best colour based suits BUStation?__ *Bournemouth University colours?* __What would be your ideal visitor to the site be and why?__ *Local person from Bournemouth* __How technical do you think your audience is, given the scale 1 - 10, 10 being technicaly talented?__ *Probably 4-5* __Are their aspects of the current website that you really like? What goals to these aspects achieve?__ *The weather feature is nice* (Note: decided not to include in new site due to irrelevance in the nature of BUStation's content). __What tangible goals would you like to see the new site complete. (increase in traffic, etc…)?__ *More visitors/engagement, more livestream viewers*
