Handling and Gripping with complete filling and Slow and Progressive Opening
Introduction
Our Technical Department has recently developed, a KIT FOR AUTOMATIC PROCESS with some supplements and additional components which are of supreme interest.
These are the following KITS:
- KIT FOR SLOW AND PROGRESSIVE OPENING - KIT FOR SCRATCHING FUNCTION (drag and scrape)
I will explain and expose mainly what each KIT and the functions that we have developed as necessary to perform in each case.
The rapid opening of grapples or buckets in discharging into hoppers, sometimes causing major problems and disadvantages. To avoid this problem, it requires from the crane operator to act slowly and with great attention to meter the discharge of material into the hopper.
Global Equipment developed an electro hydraulic KIT which allows an automatic SLOW ANDPROGRESSIVE OPENING, independent of the type of material to handle.
In the grip in heaps, with grapples and buckets, there often exist problematic circumstances that hinder the maximum filling.
Usually, choosing a grapple or a grab, is based on the MATERIAL DENSITY to handle but there are other data and variables that must also be taken into account:
- Granulometry (grain size) - Grain shape and material components - Physical distribution and percentage of various grains - Friction coefficient and surface quality of the product - Angle of repose of the material - Moisture - Temperature of both the product as the atmosphere - Degree of compaction in storage pits
All these factors, often unknown, make sometimes filling is not optimal, despite FORCE OF PENETRATION of the properly lips or teeth.
There are other factors to consider, including the ability to slip into the interior.
When filling difficulties arise, the qualified operator, instinctively makes a repeat operation, shifting and moving materials, i.e. in SCRATCHING, detaching and putting it in conditions to make good catches.
This we resolved with the SCRATCHING KIT (drag and scrape), also electro hydraulic operated, which consists mainly in the automatic imitation of the crane operator gestures.
THE TWO KITS WE HAVE DEVELOPED MAY BE INDEPENDENT OR TOGETHER IN ONE KIT.
A very important topic
These KITS can be activated directly from the crane push button panel (It is sufficient to provide only one more wire in the cable)
In the case of old existing facilities where it is not possible to have sufficient wires, the KITS are activated from a button placed on the machine itself, activating the required functions according to the materials to be handled.
I enclose a sample BUCKET WITH SCRATICHING FUNCTION (click) where it is shown how a bucket in production with difficult materials works, making the SCRATCH operation automatically as it has been programmed.
