Excuse me, butter in his espresso? Is that a British thing? Or European thing? No thanks.

RECIPE: Awake Smoothie (from Smoothie Project by Catherine McCord)
I frequently appear as a judge on the Food Network show Guy’s Grocery Games. It was behind the scenes on that show that I first encountered Bulletproof coffee, coffee blended with MCT oil and butter or ghee. Originally created as a drink for people living a ketogenic lifestyle, it is believed to have a massive positive impact on both energy and cognitive function as well as boosting your metabolism. Several of the crew members on GGG are way into it, and their fervor piqued my curiosity. At first, I was dubious about putting butter in my coffee, but that all changed after my first sip. The flavor is addictive and the texture is super creamy, so much so I was inspired to translate it into a smoothie. If you’re a purist, substitute more coffee for the almond milk for an added jolt. However, the added almond milk does enhance the creaminess, so take your pick. To sweeten it, add one pitted date or 1 tablespoon honey, maple syrup, agave, or another sweetener.
Serves 1
Ingredients:
1⁄2 cup (120 ml) cold brew or your favorite strong-brewed coffee
2 teaspoons grass-fed butter (if lactose intolerant, substitute ghee)
1 teaspoon MCT oil
1 serving collagen peptides
1⁄2 teaspoon maca powder
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1⁄2 cup (120 ml) almond milk or milk of choice
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 1 minute, or until the butter melts.
Optional super boosts:
Vanilla, chocolate, or plain protein powder
Reishi
Ashwagandha probiotic powder pink himalayan salt

Days of Productivity : 12/30/2020
2020 is almost coming to an end and one thing I wasn’t consistent with was this whole productivity thing 😅. But that’s ok what really went the way it was supposed to this year?
My new job has been keeping me very busy which in a sense I’m grateful because I’m the type of person who likes to stay busy but it also can take a toll on me because it’s just a little too much sometimes. But that’s ok because even though there’s down sides to some things there’s always something positive that can be made out of the situation. I think that’s something I’ve gotten better with this year. Even though there are times I can allow myself to let things get me down I’ve been so much better at seeing the positives in things and this is something I want to continue to improve on.
To start off fresh this new year I’ve decided to delete all social media platforms other than Tumblr of course. As we all know, social media isn’t the best when it comes to productivity and I want to start the year off with no distractions. So by doing that I hope to be able to limit any possibility of not achieving the things I want. So here’s to a new start even though I’ve never been one to care too much about the new year and what it represents to others because change can be made whenever one chooses to.
