Weekend ReCap: Bullets for Breakfast

I recently came across garden grove local band “Bullets for Breakfast” preforming at the downtown Santa Ana Art Walk.  There self described, to which I agree, as “…an eclectic group fusing gritty Alternative hip hop with emotive lyrics and disturbingly personal testimonies.”   This is a fun band to watch,  I really got a raw sort of black eyed peas pre-Fergie kind of vibe from them.  I of course immediately went to work online to learn more about them.  I was somewhat disappointed by some of their online presence.  No, I don’t mean their social media sites, their fine and clearly have their following, however much of the musical recordings simply seemed to lack luster. The majority do not have the same vibrant life that the live performance had.  Yes of course live is always better in this regards, but I'm not referring to the normal live vs produced album differences here, but rather missing the vital essence of the experience this band offers.   Sill though I implore anyone looking for a good show to check out Bullets for Breakfast, you will not be disappointed, until you download some of their songs that is. With that in mind, these recordings should not define their talent as artists. This band live has so much raw energy and passion that seeing them in person I believe will lead anyone to the same conclusion I came to. Not wanting simply to criticize whats available online  (although it needs to be mentioned), but rather to want to see a band such as this learn, improve and succeed. If they stick it out, and can bring that live energy to digital format, I think they really have something. Check them out at:
