V-Ray learning - small shading and texturing study
The nearest target of my learning journey is to have a cool render of my car I am working on, so I decided to hang it out and work hard as hell to master some renderer which would help me to achieve great result.
For the first time I made some tests in Octane render, however the features which it offers are not that good. Let’s say I want to have different HDRI for reflections and different for lighting or using UDIMs etc. In Octane these are not possible and even if the speed of rendering is more than awesome it is not enough for this type of the project.
Finally I choosed V-Ray as the only alternative for rendering in Modo and this is the first try. So stay in touch next is coming.
Car WIP
Besides of the previous post I made a quick 3 hours challenge in Octane to test the car procedural texturing. Absolutely it should need more time to achieve realistic look and I’ve decided to make it in Substance after all.
Also, I decided to make new thumbnails based on the story which will show more of the car.
