Skellita is going to be SO cute! I was hoping she would be a little more round in the face like her animated G3 counterpart but understand that she is, yknow… a skelliton. given that MH/Mattel likes to releases in 3's, I'm hoping that means we can expect two more lines of self scare dolls. if they have to have one pink doll per set, as is their way, we could see Catty, Meowlody or Cupid in the next ones. Far more likely to get Catty or Cupid, but pls imagine a self scare set with the Hissfits. Lagoona doesn't count as a pink doll from how shes marketed, but still begging for her to be included in a set in the future. Her spa day doll is one of my favs and her nautical themed accessories would be soooooooo cute

I am so stoked about these tbh, they feel like a lovely middle ground between Buried Secrets and Skulltimate Secrets. Love the cardboard packaging over the heavy plastic packaging and the mid-ground price point of $21.00??? Sounds like these are slated for a Fall 2025 release!

Core Refresh 2 Draculaura: love almost everything about this but will probably be removing the bows from the dress and going for a belt instead! i am so so so glad they went with actual leg warmers instead of molded on socks with the shoes. i just. hate that. it has been very common with other releases. a little disappointed in the sunnies only bc its almost exactly the same sculpt as Catty's from her core doll

Core Refresh 2 Clawdeen: Love everything from the waist up! I think her silhouette would benefit from bell bottom pants instead, can def still incorporate fur with the bottom hem. i will probably restyle mine a bit with the mentioned adjustment and will aim for a green/purple color scheme with gold accents rather than pink/purple with gold accents. I'm going to turn the belt into two belts by trimming off the connection points. These are not my favorite boots for Clawdeen but I am going to snag shoes from her closet/dress up set!

Core Refresh 2 Frankie: Love their crimped hair!! I am worried what the box hair will be like bc it's going to be really easy to lose the crimping while trying to fix it. I feel like Frankie's face up is the weakest of the line, it makes them look younger compared to everyone else? I also just prefer darker makeup over all. I am excited about the green leg!! Only true complaint comes down to the air pods since that is also a reused sculpt.

Core Refresh 2 Cleo: CLEO GETS PANTS!!!! I think her hair needs a little something, styling or accessories would be nice to help her feel more Complete and Cohesive with the rest of the ghouls. This outfit is great as component pieces but not my favorite together. I have a few ideas for what to swap the shirt with bc OBVI the pants are staying. There are several top from other G3 Cleo dolls that I can snag that will eat with this outfit

Core Refresh 2 Lagoona: i love her. I love her??? literally zero complaints other than i don't have her right now this very second. lagoona is my favorite of this refresh. her bag/tote? her sporty midi skirt? metallic/pearlescent scales? so happy they went with the more platinum blonde this time around and the blue & purple highlights in her hair compliment the whole fit perfectly. g3 goonie haters are crying right now and they deserve to

I have just felt really fulfilled with starting the doll collecting tbh. My 90’s Irwin Sailor Moon dolls have always been my favorite in my collection and the new MyStyle dolls are basically runner up for the collection. I get both the Collector feel goods about adding dolls but they also satisfy a creative itch in styling and posing.

And tbh it’s been less expensive which… like, the cost/value of my collection has never been why I’m in it, but for the same price for a single Figuarts Mini, I can get two dolls. It’s just been a relaxing time and I’m having a blast

Do need to reel in projects tho and actually tackle one at a time instead of start 16 and pray for the best

I’ve been thinking about this upcoming buried secrets line all morning so here are my thoughts!!

- I love the masks and I’m curious how they will be staying on the faces! I don’t see elastic and none of the promotional images show them wearing their masks. If they are only meant to be held……….. it wouldn’t be the first time in Buried Secrets where the ghouls can’t realistically use the accessories they are given due to lack of articulation lol

- I was definitely hoping for a true masquerade line rather than a masquerade/ballet line, esp since Skulltimate Secrets: Monster Mysteries provided a ballet theming. Repeating a theme isn’t bad, I just would have preferred to have characters that weren’t in SS4 to be selected instead (Ghoulia, Cupid, Toralei, Purrsephone, Meowlody, Spectra, Jinafire, Catty???) but also I love Clawdeen. I love all of these. I’m in hell

- I’m never going to get over the fact that the Monsteristas, who have all standard articulation other than chest, are MSRP for $10.00 while these are ranging between $15.00-$18.00.

- Even with the UV printing, everyone looks stunning. As long as the lips are printed and aligned on the sculpt correctly, they are going to be so gorgeous in person.

- the buns are so cute and I want to see how Mattel tackles the styling so I can replicate this on other dolls

- god I’ll have to find a cheap Twyla doll for rebodying. Fuck

- lagoona is so cute and im excited she’s getting two new dolls soon!! The all blue legs are fun and i think a good call to avoid paint chipping
