Bunadsko
Bunadsko (Shoes worn with Bunad) is a staple, there are many different shoes. Some are going out of fashion such as the Romerike shoes, Dufseshoes and Setesdal shoes. I find this really sad as they are such beautiful pieces of art.

I’m making a traditional bunad connected to my Norwegian “family”. I’m using the traditional design, the exact layout and stitch patterns for the embroidery and it isn’t easy. I’ve barely even started and already I am turning to forums online for help, especially with the embroidery because I don’t want to get it wrong. And now multiple women have told me that because I am not Norwegian my bunad will not be a real bunad which is kind of heartbreaking and frustrating to hear because of how much time and effort I’m putting into it….

asked my mom about getting fitted for a vestfold-style bunad and she said we'd have to sell my sister into slavery and hold a bake sale to shell out for one
Cinema: *ad for bunads*
Mum: I'm thinking of getting that green one.
Me: That's nice.
Me: Would they think it weird if I asked for a man's bunad?
Me: I mean, would they deny it?
Mum: I don't know.
Me: I would like one, though.
Me: They look neat.
Mum: Mh. You could try Frank's old one.
Me: Eh?
Me: Could I?
Mum: Yeah, sure.
