          “... Is it my hair?” He patted his head self-consciously, wondering why this person was staring at him--or rather, why he caught their gaze without prompting conversation. “Is there something on my face?”

There sat the young teen, attention focused on his mobile. If anyone was around he wasn't invested in showing he cared for now.

"Candy.. do you have Candy?"

"Why a brat like you want some?" Subject 6 snickered as they stared at the kid with no concern if he hurt their feelings at all.

"huh?" She blinked at him. He was commenting on her way with words? She spoke only with what she would know to get him moving. Though perhaps she had learned from him. "Taichou says lots of things, Manika pays attention to those things and the way they are said." She nodded to herself. "Kuneho does too, so we know how to talk to taichou!" She gave him a half smile, it didn't quiet reach her eyes as they still seemed to keep their dull look inside of them.

Ichimaru couldn't help but feel some pride well up for the girl. He had always seen the potential within her and anytime it was evident that she was indeed expanding on it and continuing to learn, well, it was nothing short of a wonder.

"Aye, Manika-chan~ Ya can always learn a great deal from oth'rs jus' through observation. Always use tha', it's a reliable skill, I think it'll continue ta serve ya well~"

"Hmm" There seemed to be a twinkle in her eye as she thought about it. "We should find someone we haven't harassed in a long time. It be fun to scare them taichou!" She giggled as she held onto his arm.

There was some sense of genuine amusement that coursed through the taller male as the girl's words rang through the open space around them and met his ears. How she had grown to know him so well, he thought with a satisfied grin, the mischievous connotations within her suggestion were right on the mark, coinciding perfectly with his own intentions.

"Ah, Manika-chan ya know jus' wha'ta say ta yer ol' Taichou, jus' like ya might be singin' some alluring chant to coax me along~! When did ya acquire such a skillset?"

"Taichou.." she gave a small pout. She wanted to go outside with him, he needed some air. She hadn't really seen him do much. "Come on taichou.. It'll be alright. Manika and Kuneho promise!"

The pink-haired girl urged on, keeping his arm within her grasp and tugging him further out from his office. How had the time gone by so quickly, felt like he hadn’t gone out for any extended amount of time for weeks on end, that couldn’t be right. The slender captain surmised he just must’ve been left without any ulterior plans for far too long. Leaving him with no real motivation to instigate much with others.

"Oi, Manika-chan, if ya really see ta makin’ promises ov’ somethin’ so menial then ol’ Taichou will accomp’ny you ‘nd Kuneho, won’ be forgettin’ ‘bout him." he added with a pleasant tone.

Maybe they’d have time to see what the rest who dwelled among the seireitei were up to lately and possibly stir up some of the old stiffs, some people could be so uptight and Ichimaru always loved to prod at anyone who looked like they could be swayed. Could be said he was near appreciative of his own push from his third seat, as it were.

"Alright, Manika-chan, Kuneho, ya’ve got my interest ‘nd my comp’ny so where’s our firs’targeted location~?"

"Taichou.. I did most of your paperwork though.." She pouted as she looked at him. "You need sunlight~" She grabbed his hand and moved.

There weren’t many Ichimaru considered close but admittedly Manika was one of those rare few who had gained the status. There were those moments between them that most outsiders would never bear witness to, let alone place much stock in believing. Instances where even the cold blooded snake of a man could be thought of as kind. And they were spent with the ones he had grown to share ties to.

"Yare, yare, ‘nd it wa’so much ta 'ave ta go ov’, not once bu’twice in fact! Ya sure mus’ enjoy givin’ ol’ Taichou a hard time with’ll tha extra work. An’ a good Cap’n is one who’s gon’ take ta pullin’ ov’ time in such cases, ya know!" the sly male exaggerated with ease.

His features switched to that of a surprised nature as she risked taking hold of his hand, pulling and urging him along. The tall, silver-haired captain of the third could easily tell she was displaying genuine concern for him. Perhaps he had been spending too much time hidden away lately, if anything she had gotten him thinking on the matter.
