No One Likes The Married Friend
I'm sure you can tell from the title that I'm not here's to sugar coat anything. I got married a year ago. And though it's been a great year, it's come with hard times as well. One of the things I learned....people don't dig the married chick! Don't get me wrong, I still occasionally hang with my girls...and my mom still calls (hi mom!). But I've noticed people not involving me in group outings. No calls or texts on special occasions. It's like now that I have someone to love forever, I've become some kind of outcast!
The question now is, why? Am I less fun when I sleep next to the same man every night? Does my ring offend you? Is my new last name just annoying to say, so you rather not talk to me at all? Hmm.
Many “"friends and family” seemed very involved in my journey to the alter. Even for the first few months they seemed curious how married life was working out for me. But now it seems like I'm expected to expect no love, support or friendship from anyone but my husband. Ain't that something?
Well then! You live and you learn. I'll gladly take my husband, momma and handful of friends! The Fun Bunn will stay fun without you!
