transformers in their real life sizes .
I’ll explain. Inconsistency hurts me, I try to be as consistent as I can. But as I enjoy transformers content , I am often reminded of how… weird a lot of transformer sizes are. I was watching this video bevy Rodimusprimal(“how can transformers change size? mass shifting? ) and it got me to thinking again. Starscream (a 64 inch jet) is often shorter than Optimus (a truck.) (save for in animated. But the sizes made more sense to me in that series.). The sizing is so weird. A lot of the dear old bots would be closer to human size if we look to their alt modes. Bumblebee is a short dude , so are Volzwagon. But then you get to some of the racing frames that tower over a lot of their fellow bots- but racing and luxury cars are pretty small. Skyfire/jetfire usually makes sense in from what i see, Space shuttles are huge, and so is he. I’d point out megatron, but he's often the example of this.
I personally like him better as a helicopter instead of a gun , but thats me.
Anyway, this got me thinking- what if in my little au, I made most bots more relative in size to their vehicle modes? Imma be honest , it would make sizing consistency way easier for me but also it makes interaction easier too. If many of the characters seem smaller when i draw em, its on purpose. I think for a fair amount of them ill use the mass shift concept as well. Make it feasible. Because again, and I’ve seen other artists do this, i really like the concept of starscream towering over people. It’s hilarious in a way.
