Like I said, most murders are done without planning. And even if you would burn to “get rid of evidence”, you would do so after the victim is already dead, not before.

Burning someone alive leaves a hell of a mess, plus it takes long. 

Burning a house down specifically with the intent of killing the people inside is not really done all that often. 

I could see that being a modus operandi of organized crime more than anything, hehe. So I’m very sure it happens, it’s just surprising that it’s so high on the list.
