Hi, I dyed my hair "hot purple" a while ago.i did a stupid thing & dyed this over a pink dye,im now trying to get rid of this purple.i've been washing my hair alot to bring it to what it is now: light brown(roots),light blue and pink ends.i tried bleaching these out last time but it went blonde on top & the ends of my hair went bright green! i have no idea how to remove these colours,they just dont seem to be going! i dont want to dye my hair too dark,would a light brown dye cover it?

Hi honey! Ah it sucks when colour just WONT FADE. It happens unfortunately. 

I can't really say how a light brown dye would react, and I'm guessing you don't actually want to be brown either? :S

Depending on the condition of your hair you could try a bleach bath on the ends, its obviously the blue tones in the purple just sticking where your hair is most porous. Make sure you're using a good bleach. I love fudge speed bleach, for me it seems to work so well compared to others. 

It might take a few careful and quick bleach baths over a few weeks to lift the colour, but it should be doable. 

If you actually want to go brown then you can of course try and put a brown over it! If you try one with a red base it might work better (like a chestnut or mahogany) since red tones out green. 

It depends how bright your green is though, a dye might cover it but turn a strange tone on the ends! If you can afford it, try popping along to your local salon and have them fix you up.
