Sunrise at Þjofafoss. The river Þjórsá is home to an abundance is amazing waterfalls. Unfortunately there are both current and future Power Plant and Damming projects in place that have a significant impact on the level of water in this river, thus slowly reducing the volume of water passing through these falls. So much so that some of these waterfalls may cease to exist in the future. This is one of the issues that the Icelandic Nature Conservation Association is trying to amend with their proposal for a National Park initiative that would prevent the uprise of these power plants in the affected areas. #þjofafoss #þjórsá #burfell #ísland
