Hamburger Quest #17: The Tree Of Us
It took us a while to realise we were staring at the restaurant we were looking for - The Tree of Us. I remember walking into the small shop, not sure of what to expect. The menu was cute, starting from "Tree Burgers" for standards, "Bonsai Burgers" for mini's, "Twigs" for chips, "Greenhouse" section for salads, "Morning Feed" for the breakfast menu and most cute of all was the "Sprouts" section of the menu for the little ones.
From the menu full of puns, I ordered the Chicken Coop - that consists of a free range chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli and dill pickle. The burger was soft and hearty, juicy and well put together.
DarkAngel on the otherhand, picked the biggest burger he could find on the menu - "The Stelios." The Stelios includes 2 140g Beef Patties with bacon, swiss cheese, mozza, shrooms, jalapeno, relish, truffle mayo, lettuce and tomatoes. His burger was so big that instead of the normal skewer pick, it had a steak knife holding the whole burger together.
(A side note: DarkAngel looks like he is praying in the background, he actually is clutching a fork because I was making him wait so I could take photos - he was very hungry...)
We also had to order a serve of "Twigs" and it was super crunchy as it was "Tree" times cooked with rosemary salt and house mayo. Tree of us is a cute place to try their burgers. Although comfy and homey looking, they sure do take their burgers seriously - easily comparable with the more professional francises. Drop in and let us know what you think.
Burger Quest :: Working Class Kitchen
New on dianderthal.com - Working Class Kitchen's #Chianina burger shakes up the Burger Quest list and sends me to lunchtime heaven
I hadn’t realized how long I’d gone without adding a new burger to my celebrated (by me) Burger Questlist until yesterday when my co-worker/work son William suggested relative newcomer Working Class Kitchen as our destination for lunch. I’d been here for the first time a week or so ago, considering it as a Quest spot after seeing the many mentions of their burger online. With such a long lapse in…

Come to our Burger 'Meat' Ups!!
Since we started our Burger Quest at the beginning of October, people have been asking how we’re going to finish it… How are we going to decide what is the Internet’s Ultimate Burger?
Well…
We’re massively proud to announce that at the beginning of December we will be hosting a number of events to make the final decision… And we want you to come and join us!!
Here’s how it will work…
People have been rating their favourite burgers on SORTEDfood for the last few weeks. We are going to take the 5 most popular burgers and cook them up for a selection of YouTubers, foodies and (of course) you guys at some events in London, New York and LA.
At each of these events, the top 5 burgers will get cooked up for the guests so they can taste them and decide on their favourite.
We’ll combine all the votes from the guests at the different locations to decide on a winner, which will get announced in a special video on Friday 5th December.
So… The next question, how can you be there?
No SORTED event would be complete without some of you guys there... and we have tickets for 20 of you for each location!!
Now, a quick disclaimer… You must be over 18 years old and able to get to the events by yourself - unfortunately we’re not able to pay for people to travel to get to these events, so you must be able to get there and back home safely by yourself!
With that out the way, how can you be there?
To get hold of a ticket for you and a friend/lover/family member/gerbil, all you need to do is email [email protected] with your name, a link to a burger image/recipe that you’ve uploaded to SORTEDfood and which event you would like to attend. Email us by Saturday 22nd November to be in with a chance of grabbing a ticket.
We’ll add all the emails into a (virtual?) hat and pick out people at random to attend.
Here’s the details of the events:
LONDON - 1st December, 6pm - 8pm
YouTube Space, 1-13 St Giles High Street, London, WC2H 8AG
NEW YORK CITY - 1st December, 6pm - 8pm
Joy Burger Bar - West Village, 361 Avenue Of The Americas, 10014
http://joyburgerwestvillage.com
LOS ANGELES - 2nd December, 6pm - 8pm
YouTube Space, 12422 W Bluff Creek Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90094
We can’t wait to see some of you at these events, and hopefully we can do loads more in the future on a much bigger scale!
