allen, frances, and conrad are all ppl with siblings. i feel like many have agreed on this. i wanna expand on my thoughts and headcanons....
allen's a younger sibling. he feels so much like younger sibling made to live in the shadow of his older brother, esp since he was born a girl. im not saying his parents were sexist... but oh boy did he have thoughts about them. him and his brother arent on the worst of terms. he just kind of resents his brother for being a golden child, and his brother resents him for not having all that familial pressure (which was not true lmao). then he transitioned, and weirdly enough his relationship with his brother improved. probably because allen was already on the verge of getting disowned (lmao just you wait, allen) and they feel less torn apart by their parents. after allen got cut off from his parents (/cut off his parents), communication with his brother continued.
frances is a middle child. everyone knows this. shes got an older sister and a younger brother, and shes a master at ragebaiting both. her and her older sister are close in age, but her younger brother is in highschool. her mom and dad tend to be kind of helicopter-ish, which means frances is used to just going with whatever her siblings say no questions asked. that transfered over to her relationship with the other zomburgers, where she'll drop everything to help them, no. questions. asked.
conrad... might also be a middle child. look, ive always headcanoned him as being a part of a big family, but to be an oldest child you gotta be alert most of the time. hes. well hes not always alert ill tell you that much. hes the perfect middle in a group of 5 children, with his younger sisters being twins, so hes used to taking care of people, but also used to being taken care of. hes also surrounded himself with a lot of cousins around his age, so he grew up loving team sports and competition. bro heard his job included fortnightly freeway battles with another food truck and was so excited he started generating thermal energy
penny and billie. and tim. are all only children. theyre different kinds of only children. ive said this before.
penny grew up on a street where community was a pretty big thing. her mother was a single mother, so while she didnt have any siblings, there were a bunch of other kids, older and younger, who were there to be her company. thats how she grew up friendly, learning to savor and enjoy community instead of keeping away from it. she still is in contact with some of the people she grew up with, so her sense of community is strong.
billie's got cousins. she would've had siblings too but billie was an at-risk pregnancy and her mother had her late into her life. like connie, she had a lot of cousins her age but, unlike connie, she didn't visit them as much due to having two working parents and family who lives far away. most of her mexican half lives in the state, but some of her filipino half still is in the philipines, and her parents only really make the trip there a few times a year. that, coupled with the fact that she cant speak spanish and her tagalog is... laughable... makes her feel disconnected from her family and her cousins. siblings is something she kind of wished she had growing up but now that shes grown, she cant really do anything about it.
tim is a true blue only child in the sense that his family was never ever prepared for having more than one kid. he can't even imagine what its like to have siblings. hes the guy who, when he reaches for the remote and you quickly shove your food in your mouth, will stare at you in shock and lowkey horror at how quickly you did that. his dad was the kind of dad who treated tim like a sibling sometimes, but there are some things that siblings would do to you that parents never could. tim hasnt experienced that trauma. the moment he and the zomburgers get friendly enough to warrant a sibling-like relationship, oh its over for him.
i keep doing this where i keep accidentally making zomburger all one thing and bigtop another but in my honest defense they make it so easy. statistically cesare would have had at least one other sibling, probably a sister, and steve just feels like an only child. but just when you think its a clear cut split... munkustrap has siblings. sorry, its just. i can see it. i can literally see it. its in my minds eye bro. i opened my third eye for this post
