#BurgerBattle23 Got two more burgers in for the burger battle today. It really sucks that half the places that we wanted to go to are all closed on Sundays. First, we started out at MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub - Sioux Falls and tried out the hatch caseo burger. Cliff's burger was amazing. It actually had some fresh jalapeno on top that went perfectly with the queso sauce. Over the top of the burger it had amazing flavor. If you get a chance try this one. You will like it. The last stop of the day was Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen for the chicken bacon ranch burger. I was not too impressed with this burger. It had fried chicken skins on top which kind of tastes like pork rinds. Now chicken bacon ranch is a good idea because I love it on a pizza but this was not good on a burger. #BurgerBattle23 Tried 2 more burgers last night! First I started out with the Son of Zeus at Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars, This is made by the food truck Windy City bites. This burger was really good. It had lamb gyro meat on top which its saltiness gave the burger some really good flavor. This is one of my favorites. Next we went over to Wileys to try out the West Coast Smasher. I was really excited for this burger because it's themed after the In-N-Out double double animal style. This burger was also awesome. It came looking pretty much like a double double and the taste was really good. Their animal sauce was a little off compared to In-N-Out, but it had its own unique flavor. Burger Battle Night!! #BurgerBattle23 Tonight a crew of us decided to go try out a couple more burgers for the Sioux Falls 2023 burger battle. We had the best of both worlds tonight. First, we started out at Tommy Jacks for the Philly Burger. OMG folks, this burger was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. I have tried a lot of burgers but this thing was over the top. It melted in your mouth, the bun was perfect, toppings were awesome and it also had an Au Jus sauce that made it even better! This is a must try even if you only try one burger. This is the one you have to try. Second, we went to Monks to try The Griddy. I was really excited for this burger and heard lots of good things. And if you know me, you know I love Juicy Lucy type burgers. The waitress came back a couple times after we ordered and formed us that this burger takes a long time to cook because it's very thick which is totally understandable. And we had no problem with that because we like big burgers. Well when we got the burger it was definitely way overcooked. If you can look at the picture the burger is black and it had hard crusties around it all over. It was cooked so much that all the cheese was pretty much gone out of the middle and cooked. Now the thought of this burger we thought would be a really good idea and the stuff with the rice on it was actually pretty good but with the burger being so overcooked and the bun not being that good, I would recommend that people don't even try this burger.
