Burgfest Bad Bodenteich - Walpurgisnacht 2026

Still one of my very favorite events I am looking forward to the whole year. I just love the overall vibe of this festival and the perfomers are enriching it by a lot. Have some impressions, I barely was able to capture the amazement I felt but I tried.

Burg Bodenteich / Burgfest 2022

- Walpurgis/Beltane Celebrations.

Once upon a time I wished for a DSLR to take photos at events like this and this is what got me into photography in the first place. I never had the chance to use my new one at this specific event because of reasons but damn I finally came to it.

So yes, once in a blue moon I do event photography. Have some impressions ♥

A magical evening. The whole place was widened and it felt even more dreamlike this year, I just can say I enjoy this event every year, but this year was really really good. Chapeau to the performers, you did a great job!

My favorites were Air & Earth this time. Sadly they put the Water Fairies too far away and the purple light was hard to photograph, the Fire Demons were fast this year. And finally I was able to take some good photos of Oberon!

All in all it’s getting harder to take photos every year, the actors are so fast, and if you see them they are almost always in the dark places, and ... people. Everywhere. I’m not very tall and find a good place to take photos without a lot of heads in your way is really hard.
