Official Statement regarding the future of Buried Electric.
First and foremost, I would like to apologize to all of you for the confusion that has been created over the last couple of days. There are plenty of rumors cycling through the social networking world already, and I would like to address this situation and put an end to all of it, here and now. Right off the bat, I want to start off by saying that Buried Electric IS NOT broken up. We are in no way done. In fact, currently we have more in store than we ever thought would be possible. Now with that being said, very tough decisions have been made. Nothing about our current situation has been easy, and yes, there has been conflict and error from all parties. There has been extreme hostility within the group, which has brought us to the current, extremely unfortunate situation. We are all human beings, just like all of you who are reading this, and as such, we can only handle so much before reaching a certain breaking point. While we as people can only tolerate so much, I am here to provide you all with an honest explanation for the substantial changes we have undergone as a band. Over this past year, so many amazing things have happened. We have realized the huge potential this group has, and we have been given so many wonderful opportunities as a result. However, we have had a very large number of opportunities thrown away due to conflict within the group. To be clear, Buried Electric is never going to stop. We want the world to hear what we have to say, and we want to spread our message across the globe. Unfortunately though, not all of us were able to see eye-to-eye on this issue. Of course, we’ve experienced our fair share of disagreements, conflicts and drama, as with almost every band you look up to. No one is immune to it, and we cannot wallow in the negative. I will state plainly, you will be seeing a couple of new faces around here, but these changes have been entirely necessary, in order for us to achieve our goals and really embrace the rare opportunity to pursue living out our dreams. We feel very lucky to be able to work and create music alongside other people that share those ideals with us. So, while yes, there is drama, and yes, there is change, the bottomline is: we are not letting that bring us down, and we are in no way slowing down. Enough of the negative. Here's the exciting part of what we have to say. We already have our new line up of truly amazing musicians, and I promise you that you will all grow to love them as I have. Very soon we will be unveiling the names and faces of these people, so get excited to welcome them to our wonderful family! Second, we have been busier than we ever have before. We have released 2 singles in the last 2 years, and we love those songs very much, but you can expect a lot more from us in the near future. We are just about halfway through writing our DEBUT ALBUM! Our first full length release is in the works right now, and I promise you all that it will be unlike anything you have ever heard before. We are bringing friends out from far and wide to play their part in this record, and we have some BIG surprises on the way! On that note, you will all actually be able to hear some of this for yourself! We will be releasing, periodically, small samplings of our new record, leading up to the release of our title track, and of course, the full album itself. We are taking the time to create something truly magnificent, and I have never been more proud of anything that I have had a hand in creating. These are truly exciting times for myself and the rest of the group. Speaking of exciting, what could be more so than more performances?! With our roots now firmly grounded in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, it seemed only fitting to have our first show back take place in our new home! We are playing for the Sumerian Records team once again with one goal in mind... MAYHEM FEST! We make our comeback this July of 2013, and you will not want to miss our first show with the new members, July 8th at the Middle East Downstairs venue! We have some even BIGGER announcements to make in the coming months, some of which may even “Pierce” your very heart with excitement... But alas, I’ve already said too much! Now, I know that we will never be able to please everyone, and we may lose the support of some along the way. However, if you choose to no longer follow us in our endeavors, I just want to say that I am truly sorry. I wanted to take the time here to explain our situation and clear the air a bit for those of you that may have gotten confused. If you want to address me personally about this, or would appreciate some more information, please, speak your mind and send us your messages! Write to me personally on any of my personal pages, and I will take the time to explain to each and every one of you, the goings on of the group over of the last few months. In conclusion, yes, changes have been made, but in order to create something bigger than yourself you always have to be ready for change. This has not been easy for any of us involved, and we are sad to see some of our friends go. However, there is MUCH more to look forward to in the bright future of Buried Electric. With a few faces, new friends, new music and a fully-revived energy and motivation to achieve nothing but the best. We are creating something great for all of you, and I only hope that you will all continue to follow our progress while on this road i like to call rock and roll. That’s all I have to say publicly on this matter. I apologize to those of you who have been made to feel confused or concerned, and I look forward to a bigger and brighter future. Thank you all for your time. ~ David James Benites, Buried Electric
