Blue: 9 facts about my family.
I DO NOT get along with my mother. We've never seen eye to eye but it's worse as of lately. (I'm actually glad that she's gone most of the time)
I miss living with my dad. He was so much more accepting of my lifestyle than any other member of my family.
We don't associate with most of my family. Mostly we keep it to the 5 of us that live down south. I'd never even met most of my family until we went to 3 funerals in like 2 months.
All of my family is extremely christian, against gay marriage, pro life, will only call people by the pronouns they were assigned at birth. Meanwhile, I'm genderfluid with male/neutral pronouns, atheist and pro CHOICE. My sister is the only one who doesn't refuse to call me anything but my birth name which pretty much nobody knows anymore. (She still calls my by my Birth name but will introduce me as Raleigh)
Most of my family is in the Medical Profession, which they wanted me to join, but I'm taking the Art/Computer path.
I cannot remember a time in my life when we did not have a cat in the house. We've always had cats. (With an assortment of dogs, birds, fish and reptiles thrown in here and there)
We can our own food and EVERYONE in my family knows how to cook. Most of us know how to sew. And 4 of us know how to knit AND crotchet.
My parents are separated (This year) and in the 4 months that they've been so, my mother has had 6 boyfriends and brought home like 3 of them. She's been adamant about us having good relationships with her boyfriends, but breaks up with them too soon for us to even talk to any of them. I gave up trying after number 3 when she asked us to call him "Dad". That was one of the worst fights I've ever had with my mother.
I was ignored as a child and I pretty much still am now. That's why I have this desperate need for affection now. If you show me any sort of affection, I will basically cling to it and never ever want to let go which makes me come off as annoying, so I have a hard time making and keeping friends.
