ok tell me about your dps klaine au. i love the movie so i'm interested to hear what you have in mind! :)

sooooo i have this au in mind for dps klaine that would take place during dalton era klaine (naturally) and i wanna write it so bad. here are some highlights

kurt as todd anderson

blaine as neil perry

sam as knox overstreet

mercedes as chris noel (for the samcedes of it all naturally)

kurt transfers to dalton for largely the same reason he did in canon — to get away from bullies. the difference being he doesn’t actually meet blaine until they find out they find out they’re rooming together (as is the case in dps)

blaine’s father is really adamant that he gets good grades so that he’ll be able to get scholarships for a nice law school.

when blaine hints that he might want to do acting, mr. anderson gets agitated with him bc he already had one kid try to follow that acting pipe dream and where did that get cooper? absolutely nowhere, according to his father. blaine is NOT allowed to do the theatre stuff under any circumstances

meanwhile kurt still feels like an outsider amongst the other boys in school bc he’s the self conscious gay kid who is a natural creative in a space where only academics and business seem to matter. the only person that really actively tries to make him feel welcome is blaine who he quietly latches onto.

ofc that kinda shifts when the society is formed.

it’ll more or less follow the main story, but i’m gonna change some stuff for plot purposes and also make klaine a bigger focus in the narrative. including the deleted scenes from the film that expand on their relationship

“i can take care of myself, alright?” “no.” “what do you mean no?” “no ❤️”

i’d probably also keep the late 50s/early 60s era the same bc i think that’d be fun to interact with when dealing with queerness

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

the one where blaine’s an actor and kurt’s in charge of his costumes. it’s some second rate detective series and blaine’s fake dating the female lead (tina <3) for publicity purposes. he doesn’t seem to mind going along with it but he’s not super convincing of a boyfriend either. kurt is annoyed by the whole thing but can’t admit to himself why.

the production has them in close quarters and even though they only hang out in groups they keep ending up alone. kurt shops for blaine's clothes for a living so he’s always paid attention to blaine’s body but now he’s getting to know him and unfortunately he likes what he sees. blaine is naturally affectionate but kurt keeps him at arms length so blaine thinks there’s no way kurt could feel anything more for him, since kurt can barely tolerate his friendship.

there’s an award ceremony and blaine and tina are super loved up and annoying the whole time. bc their show wins, there’s an afterparty at blaine’s place and they’re playing spin the bottle and kurt’s feeling selfish and jealous and manipulates it to land on blaine (just like that season 6 duet wheel <3). blaine doesn’t see it coming at all. it’s a very intense worldview-changing kiss. they go up to blaine's room and have sex. afterwards kurt plays it off like it didn’t mean anything, like it was easy physical attraction, which used to be true but isn’t anymore. blaine accepts this sort of morosely but kurt thinks he’s feeling guilty about pseudo-cheating on tina.

kurt thinks that’s the end of that. except pretty soon after, the tabloid headlines are all about blaine and tina breaking up and what will this mean for their romantic arc on the show? kurt actually does feel guilty now bc he thinks it’s his fault. but tina gets to him first. she’s chewing him out for toying with blaine's feelings or something and accidentally gives away the fact that blaine has feelings for him what??

and tina is like “you didn’t know?” and kurt leaves to find blaine. and they reconcile and you know how the rest of it goes.

okay i haven’t written a word of this idea but clearly it's been haunting me lol

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

people that think blaine cheating was out of character... are they coping because they badly want to like blaine or klaine but can't get over this? (but can get over how he cheated on karofsky with kurt?)

it's funny that they say it's out of character after the show aired, knowing blaine has another 3 seasons, knowing how the cheating impacted blaine's s4 character arc. that's not breaking character, that's developing character. are characters so rigid that you can absolutely rule out what they would or wouldn't do after 2 seasons, one of which was spent being a supporting character for kurt?

i actually loved that he was so dramatic about the chandler thing, only to actually cheat. that's so classically teenager. you don't know yourself and you can't predict who you'll become in the future. you have expectations of yourself that you never live up to. accidentally the realest glee moment and it's dismissed as "bad writing" :(

💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?

kurtbastian. i think kurt hates being condescended to (he would rather be the one doing the condescending). kurt has a complex relationship with power/authority and for a long time he can't get any and is told it's because he's too gay or whatever. then to see sebastian abusing his power as warblers captain, being openly gay, and mockingly calling kurt effeminate? what a slap in the face.

Hey, idk if you remember but I sent an ask on your birthday about how your blog made me want to come back to tumblr and you said that I should. Well, I found my old password and I guess I'm back now.
