It got cut off cause Instagram is dumb like that. So, I found out today that one of my managers left our workplace. As soon as I got confirmation from my other manager, I got emotional. I wanted to cry. The guy was always willing to accommodate for if I needed a day off or a shift adjusted, and was always willing to give me a ride home when asked after we closed up the store. However, the thing that meant the most to me was every time he'd ask if I was okay. Every now and then during a shift of mine, he'd check up on me to make sure I was okay, and it meant the world to me. I was definitely vocal about my health, both physical and mental, not being as great as everyone else's, so he always made sure I felt welcome with everyone else just by asking if I was okay. I think he sometimes called my number personally to check up on me, too, and vice versa. I left him a voicemail during work, thanking him for everything he had done and how I'm gonna miss the Hell out of him, and he sent this heartwarming text. I'll do my best to make you proud, Andrew. Thank you for everything. #BurlingtonCoatFactory #Burlington #Work #Job #Jobs #ThankYou #ThankYouAndrew #ThankYouManager #ImWorkingOnTheHealthyPartTooBtw https://www.instagram.com/p/CDLAn_dJuvz/?igshid=19094dl2o3kbf

I got a story for you guys. Back in 2007, I ended up going through Voc Rehab and got a job at KB Toys the next year. I was enjoying it and learning some stuff, but had to leave the next month to stay with my father in Florida. About a year later, I end up trying to become a door to door salesman for Verizon. I didn't even make it past the orientation, largely due to stress and no driving skills, let alone a car. In 2012, I got a job at a nearby VA hospital as a dish washer. I barely lasted the full month and kept calling out over thunderstorms and other issues, and suffered a nervous breakdown two weeks into the job. After that, though, I fell into a big depression due to how I felt I failed them, and it lasted for months. Since then, I felt I couldn't hold a job because of it, and went unemployed for years. In late 2018, I was having issues with the rent and late fees, which made me finally put my foot down and work to get myself a job. After some training at Tampa Crossroads, I got an interview with Burlington Coat Factory. I managed to nail it, and got the job. I was ecstatic, to say the least. On the first day after orientation, though, my body was in pain because I wasn't used to working and being mobile like that, let alone for 6 hours. I didn't know if I would've lasted a month again. Then that month passed, and then another, and another, and come the 27th, it will have been a full year since working here part time. I've never been happier with it, as well as with the pay. If you're reading this, Karl, thank you. Thank you for giving me this opportunity and accommodating for my issues. Same goes to Fred, Megan, Sean, and Andrew. Bun, too. Every day gets easier. You gotta do it every day, but it still gets easier. If you feel like it's gonna be a struggle to try something new, it's worth it. You are worth it. Stay strong, and stay hopeful. Love you all. #Work #OneYearOfWork #BurlingtonCoatFactory #IHopeYouAreProudDad #YouTooMom #ILoveYouAll https://www.instagram.com/p/B8sFpGqFnnb/?igshid=poarveidnjow
