“You...want to go across the desert?”

“I have to get to Ba Sing Se,” Zuko said. “My…” His heart pounded in his chest, a half-lie coming to his lips. “My family and I were uprooted by the Fire Nation. We need to get there to… to keep my little brother safe while we wait for the rest of our family to get back from the front.”

The sandbender’s eyebrows furrowed. “How many people do you have?”

Chapter One- The Sandbenders of the Si Wong

It's back! Here's the second installment for the Burning Plains AU. Zuko, Lee, and Sela are on their way to Ba Sing Se, and this work will follow them through it. The first chapter covers the beginning of their journey, as they start to cross the Si Wong Desert.
