Have you ever considered the power of a photograph? A photograph is vital to document the fact that we exist. The proof that we are here. Sometimes a photograph can help in the opposite way. With Valentine’s Day coming, we all know not everybody it’s part of a couple, including me. But not all of us are happy about it. Burning photographs is a healthy way to purge someone from our lives and hearts when they have hurt us. It's almost as though removing their existence through the photograph removes their very existence. Sometimes it's a good source of closure to have these rituals, to heal our human hearts. The photograph is simply an image on piece of paper, yet it is one of the most powerful manmade tools we humans have for healing. For me, I celebrate Galentine’s Day with my girlfriends. But it was a couple of years ago that these were my photos after my marriage ended. This was a great healing tool for me.
