A mage... A HUMAN mage, at that. The inquisitor’s immediate thought was Tevinter, a mage from the IMPERIUM, poking their heads where they didn’t belong. Even so, the Council of Mages never had the lingering scent of dirt and GRIME on their cloth... Along with the stench of decay and dried blood. No, not TEVINTER... But Kirkwall. He’s heard much of the ruined city, not from Varric, but from books. In a wartorn state, the BIRTHPLACE of the mage’s rebellion, protected by the mage known as Hawke ━ and his sister, Marian. Varric did mention the arrival of two friends that could aid the Inquisition in their crusade against Corypheus... He had a few ideas in mind, these two weren’t likely. Yet here they are... Defying expectations ━ Eddie’s expecations, at the very least.
The Inquisitor rarely TRUSTED outsiders, much less humans... But if Varric placed his faith in them years ago, then he would trust his word. An eyebrow would be raised at the woman standing before him, having to tilt his head down to properly gaze upon her. Eddie was sure that this would result in a STRAINED muscle, but it was certainly better than being ‘ rude ‘ ━ he needed to work on his manners anyhow.
“So ━ you’re Marian Hawke, yes? I am Inquisitor Adaar, as they call me... But if you want to go by simpler terms, my human name is Eddie.” He took a pause, pursing his lips at the formalities. Sometimes it flowed so nicely... Other times, being ELOQUENT took more of a strain on him than he made obvious. “Welcome to the Inquisition.”
