Objectively I know that Darkstripe’s misery was his own fault. Still feel very sorry for him. I think it’s the fact that he was miserable from the very beginning. I wouldn’t have felt sympathy if he was a “normal” kitten and then chose to make his own life worse, little by little, by hurting others. But being basically depressed from the get-go is *miserable.* Just darkness, from something (genetics?) that isn’t your fault. Everyone around you is calm and content in a way that you can never understand. You were born into aimless pain and no one understands why, especially you. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Too bad the Clans don’t have therapists. This probably won’t happen, but Darkstripe should go and get pampered by doting humans who love their asshole cat.

Darkstripe was destined to be unhappy, it seems. He did get a modicum of joy from being around Tigerclaw, at least, so that was something. I think I'd feel worse for him if he didn't take out his problems on everyone else - if he let his thoughts be thoughts and kept his actions at least slightly more kind. Alas...

They're not going to be full on villains! No one in this story is purely good or purely evil, there's a lot of gray morality here ehehhe

The concept of Tommy having the most normal Pokémon fits so much with his characters always being the token normal/weak person in his roleplays… like in osmp, he’s a chicken with not that great of a power, and in dsmp he’s just a Guy. And here, he has a normal team and his friends all have massive Pokémon or actual Legendaries. Tubbo’s Palkia stares down the opponent while Tommy loudly proclaims how he’ll win the fight on his own. Techno’s Emboar glares over his shoulder like an Extra Big Brother as Tommy picks a fight with a trainer. Amazing concept.

YEAHH the tommy vibe is the exact one i was going for.. in osmp he's just an Above Average Boy and in dsmp all his friends are hybrid creatures while canonically tommy is just Some Guy (well we all make inhuman versions of tommy + tubbo but i pretty much never see human versions of tubbo anymore, and there's always a human tommy somewhere)

tommy goes into pokemon battles with this confidence and bravado that his normal pokemon definitely could back up, but for extra security his friends loom in the background with their gigantic ass pokemon that makes rival trainers worried (even if tommy himself doesn't know they're doing that, he just thinks his own aura is very intimidating)

and tubbos palkia is becoming an actual thing now huh.. i like the idea someone said where palkia isnt actually tubbo's pokemon it just follows him around sometimes.. i hope they don't mind me postin their rb here ^^

i think if this tubbo & palkia thing were to exist, palkia pops in randomly and then just goes off to do its own thing, it senses "oh shit my 'trainer' is in danger" and swoops in (which is quite often, tubbo is quite reckless)

Ohhhhh that latest chapter….. I already left a comment but I just want to say more. I don’t know if you’re going to explore it more but was Dream counted among Techno’s small list of Friends? Or did they just meet and decide to work together? I read that part where Techno notes that Dream seemed really eager to find a reason to work with him and thought, oh no: a Dream working to betray Techno and trying to kill him? But then I realize that Dream was fanboying. He literally just wanted to be friends with Technoblade. Lmaooo

yeah techno doesn't consider them friends but only so he can make fun of dream for fanboying. they're definitely friends lmaoooo we'll be meeting techno's whole posse eventually! the songbird gang is very important to me

Uhh, I’m sorry if this is a somewhat personal question, but do you feel attached to your meat rabbits? Do you get a little sad when you eat them? Have you ever gotten so attached that you keep one as a pet? I’m wondering if I should keep meat rabbits in the future but I’m worried I’ll get too attached.

i’m attached to some but not to the point where i can’t kill them when it’s necessary.  even rosette, who is a retired breeder turned barn-pet.  in general i’ve always had a pretty big disconnect between my pets and my livestock, and even then my pets are still just animals i choose to have in my home.

Will your comic ever address the weird disparity between Asriel’s and Kris’ stuff? One side of their bedroom is filled with trophies and color and the other side is grey and empty except for that cage. Later, people praise Asriel and then call Kris creepy to their face. I noticed the difference between their sides of the room immediately when I played the game and it baffles me that not a lot of people seem to see it.

I think it’s meant to serve as environmental storytelling...I mean just from seeing that and hearing the other dialogue, it’s obvious that Asriel is an overachiever, perhaps a bit competitive, popular and well liked. And Kris just doesn’t seem to have much in the way of interests or goals they want to pursue, and tends to get into trouble. So...feels like the game addresses it already!

I’ve seen you mention Ga’Hoole before, so I’m curious - how do you feel about that series + Wolves of the Beyond, if you’ve ever read it? I’m curious because not a lot of people talk about it compared to Warriors, but I really am nostalgic about that series.

I didn’t read beyond the fifth book of GOG, unfortunately, but what I did read, I enjoyed! I have no idea if I’d like it now, given that it’s been, like, ten years, and I remember having issues with certain points of the writing even in middle school. I think I should check it out again at some point.
