Is that wise? To risk everything for a dog you've only heard guards talk about?
"...He's risking everything by trying to help me.
And besides... he probably has people out there, waiting for him to come home.
I don't have that to worry about".

"...Do I do it?
I'm not going to escape if I do. All Michael's risk and suffering will be for nothing...
but at the same time, he's getting hurt over me. I'm no one to him....
Fuck".
Jack, just stay low and follow orders. I'll try and keep you out of trouble. - Michael
[Frowns gently at the note]
"What have you done now, Michael? All over me? I don't get you..."
[But he'll do it. Of course he will.]
"...I'm fucked, aren't I?
I should have known. I'm never getting out of here..."
[watches the lion in silence before turning and closing the door behind him, disappearing amongst the darkness again]
[Sighs softly, returning to his corner, sipping at the water. Shakes out his mane.]
"So much for that…
I wonder why he sprung me”.
[carrying a small bag through the darkness of the halls, Michael made his way to the place he'd hidden the lion. Nudging the door, he watched for his surroundings before placing the bag of food down gently. The lion needed it more; cooked meat still partly warm and water for later. Enough to get him by, at least]
[Jack hears the door, and is prepared to run, but spies the bag. It’s Michael again. He can smell the meat, and his mouth waters. Carefully approaches, and takes the bag, smiling. He lets out a warm rumble, grateful. Oh, water too. That’s so good.]
"…Thank you. Are you staying? Maybe… share with me? Michael, you’re risking so much… at least let me try and help you some".
"...I guess even a cushy cage is still a cage".
"Upside to being in here. I've slept more comfortably than I have in years. Chairs are super soft compared to a cage floor. Downside... no food. But I've been without for longer".
