“Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies, But stranger still is Lost Carcosa.” The mists rolling off of the ocean swirled around the docks of Northsalt Village. The northwestern region of High Rock was one of her least favorite places. The air always felt cold, and the land was inhospitable; filled with towering spiked crags, windswept moors and narrow canyons. Navigating the waters was difficult and treacherous, and the evidence of many failed sea Captains before her littered the oceans. The shell of old ships could be seen lurking in the darkness of the waters, like newly formed rock formations that the Sunbird now had to dodge. From the corner of her eye, she could see a faint glow of light among one of the wrecks. A lantern to light the way. However, she knew no one living was creating a warm fire to keep the night’s demons at bay. As to what was lurking inside, she wasn’t sure, but she was happy to sail in the opposite direction and keep going far far south until she was as far away from Rivenspire as possible.
