Honestly I’ve never cared for superheroes or anything whatsoever. Don’t know why, just didn’t interest me. (Minus the Teen Titans show from CN but that had beast boy to lure me in)

That said…. AUUUUGH your art your art your ARRRT. I’m so glad that Batman has become a cultural osmosis thing so I can understand your world better without having to read comics or anything. I m sorry I don’t know how to convey this well but like. You’ve taken this thing I know about and only have a passing “oh yeah I like that one show and a couple movies” interest in and made it something I’m OBSESSED with. I am rotating these guys in my mind.

this was lovely to hear! and believe it or not, your relationship with superheroes was very similar to mine! my favorite DC related things were OG Teen Titans and the 1970's Superman movies, both were super influential to me, but I didn't get very deep into comics until I saw the Lego Batman Movie in 2017

since then, a lot of my work tries to channel the energy of the things that pilled in the most, cape comics have a lot of room for emotional and colorful storytelling that doesn't always get filled up and I wanted to take advantage of that, I'm really glad to hear that I've managed to pull you in too lol

Another question, and sorry if you’ve already answered this- why does Rose only have one eye? Is it meant to represent all of them at once?

Yes--count the shines in her eye, and you'll find there are eight! Technically, an insect has many small eyes grouped together in two clumps, but we read it is as two (compound) eyes. A tarantula has many small eyes grouped together in one clump, so...one eye! (With the hair in the center represented as her lovely lashes, of course.)

6920. Angel hates authority and following orders. She mostly tolerated HIVE Academy because it was a place to stay and refine her skills, but after it collapsed she was more than happy to go alone. She only joined the BoE to get the Titans out of the way and planned on leaving the moment the job was finished. Her lack of interest in working as a team or listening to a leader ended up saving her in a sense, as she had no reservations about leaving when things were going poorly for the BoE in the final fight.

Are there any gubs that are basically the “jumping spiders” of this world? As in they’re less feared than others and even seen as cute, but many would still like them to stay far away and only see them in photos- or I guess orchid renditions

Condors are seen the same way we see butterflies (an exception among birds). Apart from that, the "gubs" with good reputations are mostly reptiles and amphibians, as well as (relative to macrovolutes) small invertebrates like some jellyfish and mollusks. However, all of these are still preferred at a distance.
