Personally, I thought that (other than my own group) the SONY group did especially well. I found it interesting that their strategy was to work on renovating the company and making their image more modern and realistic. They elected to do this in a number of ways.
One of these ways included tailoring events, products, and new promotional campaigns toward younger generations. The group’s idea of having their technology sponsor and be used at music festivals was especially interesting. I feel as if this would draw attention to their products and their brand while creating a new aesthetic and generating conversation about things other than their recent hack.
SONY most definitely needs new identity, and a Public Relations team that can successfully transfer them into the digital age. By putting their products and representation on blast with popular festivals, celebrities, and other pop-culture phenomena, their group would single-handedly form SONY into a technological powerhouse.
Image and exposure are everything. Despite the fact that SONY lacks both of these currently, I believe that with the help of this group’s PR skills, SONY could move into a position of power and be one of the technological forerunners of the digital age.
