Porter, Sam, and Vincent all have dates to the Monarchal Summit; Alexis should get one too.
(credit to the gorgeous @slozards who was so delightful to work with I highly recommend them if you’d like a commission of your blorbos)
I’m thinking a grand staircase with my beautiful girl striding down it and Christian, her wolf slash arm candy, ready to accompany her.
I’m thinking a Princess crown I know William has had made for her, comprised of precious pearls and jade fashioned into magnolias.
I’m thinking a stunning red dress with nods to a traditional áo dài silhouette because of the Vietnamese ethnicity I’ve headcanoned for her.
I’m thinking of my girl getting to enjoy the party, looking gorgeous, and watching her little brother and nebulously adopted sibling (???) duke it out because not her circus not her monkeys.
And I can’t imagine y’all’ll mind much either, so please enjoy my Sweetheart (he/him) and Milo dressed as the big bad wolf and little red riding hood because why the heck not
Commissioned from the wonderful @elenamaegi on Instagram who was so wonderful and accommodating and just a joy to work with ❣️
hello it’s me your local Alexis redeemer spending my paycheck on something none of us need but I want deeply, and this time, it’s Alexis of the Solaire clan as the Death card
Commissioned from the amazing @ventii_art on Instagram; they worked incredibly fast, I cannot recommend them enough!
Discussion of the significance of the Death card in tarot and design notes under the cut!
Why the Death card?
Most people who practice or read tarot will actually tell you the Death card is misunderstood and maligned. The card most people have to fear is actually the Tower which (generally, from an amateur and novice) can signify great change and destruction. Death, in contrast, hardly ever means literal death. It typically means transformation, a change followed by rebirth, the expiration of something that needed to end so something new could begin.
Alexis, in my opinion, can be read as similarly understood. Both she and Death are very rarely dealt with on a personal basis, and we have very little primary evidence of experiencing either. A common misconception of Death is that it’s done with purpose or malice instead of as a chain of events or as a part of the circle of existence, and this remind me of how I think about my Alexis.
It’s often assumed that she turned Sam for selfish, hateful reasons, to manipulate him and keep him with her forever. That is definitely possible- just as purposeful life and death are possible. I also think it’s possible that she did what she did with good intentions, that she is more of an electron bouncing in the valence clouds of the universe rather than a puppet master. The fact Sam’s death was also a beginning lends itself to explore the contradicting, dual complexities.
Why these design choices?
Alexis’s little black date dress also being a funeral dress just hit really good okay
My Alexis is Vietnamese, so I picked white flowers as is common for mourning in Asia
White Chrysanthemums are a common funeral flower while also representing loyalty and devoted love.
White Dahlias, in contrast, represent change and long life, common at births and weddings.
Together, the bloodstained bed of flowers symbolizes not just mourning, not just guilt, not just rebirth, but something along the lines of “my broken, remorseful heart will love you for all our eternal lives.”
Hello, Redacted tumblr, it’s time for you to meet the banes of my existence brought to life by @spookybeandoodle
Now, none of you can blame me for the barrage of Alexis/Christian content I burden upon you when they are THIS DREAMY and this deeply in love already.
Excerpt is from my fic “Meet me on your best behavior (meet me at your worst)”
I’m just gonna drop this commission sheet right here, as well, in case anyone else wants to fall deeply in love with fictional characters that were previously only pictured in your head 👀
From the ask game, 25. Got any ideas/spoilers for future WIPs you’re willing to share?
Yes! After the current fic I’m working on (another Alexis/Christian one because brainrot), I’m really excited to work on a Lasko/OC idea I’ve been kicking around for a bit!
Here’s a little art I had commissioned of it (thanks to the gorgeous @cecikiwi)!
Left is Caelum, Middle is Gavin, and to the right is Bee, my autistic empathy daemon!
Busybee (they/them), or Bee for short, teaches newly coalesced daemons how to operate in the human world, how to make them happy while still maintaining covert. They live a very peaceful immortal life of nurturing young minds and lingering in Elegy to feed off happiness and all the different foods humans have to offer.
Then they come across Lasko Moore whose spellsong calls to them, whose joy tastes like nothing they’ve ever had before, and they fall in love.
Fun Facts:
I’m not saying all Empathy daemons are asexual, but this one is!
Gavin gave them the nickname BusyBee because empathy daemons remind him of Elegy bees- little happy things flying around and spreading positivity instead of pollen- and there’s no busier daemon than Bee.
They once pushed one of Lasko’s dice to land on 20 during a boss fight, and they felt really guilty for cheating (???) but also loved the way Lasko’s joy tasted.
I haven’t started writing this yet, but it’s got a playlist already!
