I should probably have made some sorta personal biased ranking of the DVs at some point + personal powerscaling
Hiiii @endrel sorry I haven't tried to uh reply to ur comments (if you're a bot i'll kill you :D) I've been too invested in One Piece again so trying to recollect my thoughts on the DVs is gonna take a really long 5 moments or something.
But if I had to general the categories it'd be like this:
Fanfic plot relevant: Orter, Kaldo, Ryoh, Rayne - that also means lots of headcanons.
If you don't know (you HAVE to know because you kept asking it on most of my Orka posts) - I ship Orter with my oc, Rinka. Why? Because they clash. The way they do the same department clashes a lot but they're both strong, magically at least. I like Orter purely for the fact we know most of his backstory. Even moreso than Rayne as well.
Kaldo and Ryoh sort of are the next interesting DVs because of how much they exist in the plot, with one being HR and the other supposedly being the strongest and the epitome of their military magical power. (Although I will KEEP side eyeing canon Ryoh because why is your wife canonically 24 while your son is 6??? I had to change her age to be 27 to give me some sanity.)
For Rayne.... he's normal. I don't really know why I like him myself because I didn't care about him for majority of the manga. It was mostly the Delisaster fight that really cleared him into the list. My OC, Darren, basically nerfs his feats because I don't think some of it makes sense. (He cannot be the youngest ever summons/thirds wielder DV. Levis is proof of that. That boy is literally younger than him by a few months and already shows off Adamas like nothing much. Don't even get me started on Domina.)
Pure fanon hcs: Sophina, Tsurara, Agito, Renatus
Now, in terms of pure manga. So much untouched potential. Especially because 3/4 were no diffed. (Renatus proved he had a summons, but then Doom overpowered him, yk).
Since they're in the range of pure fanon for me, I decided to do all those other posts. I forgot to mention I tried powerscaling them but it's so garbage cuz Idk what I'm ranking at this point.
*- the reason some people are ranked lower than others is because pure magic output places a bigger emphasis on non-summon/thirds feats. Alexa (OC), Tsurara , Rayne, and Agito fit this bill (even though most of it is implied or pure HC). Lance, Ryoh, Orter, and Renatus are seen at their peak through a summons for the most part, hence being lower.
It must be noted that this doesn't rank Magic Control or Versatility in which almost everyone at the top would rank much lower.
