*opens the lid to my coffin crawls out of my grave*
another thing that just gets me about the whole “#sorrynotsorry but Echo, Raven, and Emori are my family” thing is that, like, they were not under any immediate or explicit threat of danger? i mean yeah they were in a generally dangerous situation, but not any more than they had been pretty much since they got to the ground??
but you know who WAS under an immediate and explicit threat of danger?!? that’s right: Madi. and it wasn’t just a threat of danger either, it was a threat of death. Bloodreina had already threatened Madi BEFORE she had the chip. and once she got the chip, there was a kill order on both her AND Clarke. giving Madi that chip was basically painting a huge red target on her back.
also, Echo, Raven, and Emori are grown ass adults? and Madi is a literal child?? not only was a child placed under threat of death, she was also handed this huge fucking responsibility of being a leader, and a battle commander, and having everyone look to her for answers, and being expected to save the day and everyones’ lives along with it. no one should have face those kinds of expectations much less a literal, actual CHILD.
you would THINK that a character whose arc has focused SO MUCH on being given far too much responsibility at far too young an age, and being made to feel like they had the weight of the whole goddamn world on their tiny little shoulders, and being let down time and time again by the adults around them, and the difficulties of bearing the burdens of leadership would understand that.
(you would also think that a character who knows what it’s like to be chained to a wall while their literal worst nightmare was happening and they were helpless to stop it would never do that to anyone else, especially someone they are meant to care about. but I guess that’s none of ~my business~)
but hey... fuck plot continuity and character consistency amirite?!?
