i think what pisses me off the most is that female characters are so often hated for things that male characters not only get away with, but are praised for. like, people can hate whatever characters they want, i’m not policing that. i’m not saying people need to even have a reason to hate a character. god knows i have characters i can’t stand for the pettiest of reasons but

i’m tired of the double standards. i’m tired of people thinking it’s cool and edgy to hate on female characters because they’re too something, or not enough of it, while their male counterparts are loved and celebrated for the exact same reason the women are hated. they just literally can’t win, regardless of what kind of character they are. and i am so done with it
