Gotta say, the Oathkeeper scene is so much better the second time around, without my fannish expectations weighing it down. And holy woah, I was so caught up in Brienne silently wrestling with herself, deliberately choosing to give herself away with ". . . and for you" that I didn't even notice Jaime swallowing and going hoarse when he changes the subject. Brienne has tentatively started to accept her feelings for him, but Jaime is just beginning to realize he cares for her, and he's pushing it away with everything he's got.
This is to say nothing of him trailing her like a puppy when she rides off, like
