Things that make more sense than Will and Belle being in a romantic relationship: - Belle and Will were rehearsing for their upcoming roles in the Storybrooke Community Theater's new production of The Music Man.  - Belle was actually Anastasia, visiting Will under a magical disguise. Actual!Belle let them use the shop for the night. - Will is actually Zelena in disguise and the whole thing is revenge against Belle for marrying Gold.

- Belle is actually Zelena in disguise and the whole thing is a plot to get Gold to forget about Belle and love her instead. - Belle has been systematically kissing every man in Storybrooke as part of an experiment to test the applicability of True Love's Kiss. She's getting to the bottom of the list. - Hook knew Gold was back in town and set the whole thing up by buying them drinks and betting Will $20 he wouldn't kiss her, just because he knew how much it'd piss Gold off. - It was a mirage created by Ursula to get back at Gold for eating all her rocky road ice cream and never doing the dishes back in New York. - Belle was suspicious after Ursula and Cruella showed up, so she orchestrated the whole thing as an experiment to figure out whether Gold had found a way back into Storybrooke. Kiss another guy (preferably one she barely knows and no one cares about to minimize the awkwardness/potential maiming) while standing in the VERY WELL LIT window of Gold's shop, then check to see if anywhere in town suffers a subsequent outbreak of windows having been mysteriously ragesmashed coupled with a sudden plague of snails. Follow the trail of snails and broken things to wherever Gold is hiding.
