Not thinking of my own protag (ok prolly more kittykatzvillage’s) but the first possible rift pokemon I imagine for Rejuv protag would be Banette. Hear me out. First we got that whole Doll thing going on like good mom Nancy. You can argue that with their lack of agency Aevia (let’s use the “””canon”” name) is pulled here and there wherever she is needed. She can say no but, honestly there seems to be little choice, she keeps her mouth zipped up. I imagine that realistically she wouldn’t be a silent protag but it’d also be good to symbolize that. With the intense emotions and frustrations which are what in lore bring banette to life, she begins to consider Crescent’s words on how no one seems to care about her ultimately (or something like that right?). Aevia has been swallowing up the pain she feels and the deaths of hers to help others, she has fought through her suffering but has neglicted herself and ultimately lashes out.

The protag is frustrated and afraid and still aching from loss and betrayal and apprehension and honestly she handle being the backbone of the group much longer.

Bonus: 5x Golurk are the other pokemon in the battle. An automaton pokemon? Go figure. Also you get to play as Melia, probably (and maybe find your last bagged pokemon strewn across the rift in case you want to shift out a la where love lies)
