I know we only see simon at his lowest. and I know he was raised in like a cult or whatever #and yes Eden’s name is a direct connection to like. yknow. christianity. but I don’t think Eden IS Christian yknow?#I get the vibe that Eden is a death cult (obviously) that focuses on the connection to nature and returning to nature/earth as best they can #—when the earth (and mars) are gone and they have no soil to connect to.#I feel like Eden is less about the afterlife and more about the cycle of decomposition->life->death and how it all connects #there is something divine and godly in this cycle #made so because of the true disconnect humans now have to that cycle. that cycle is holy because it is basically untouchable by humans now #…except for the last tree which is why eden has such a grip on its members. the only access these people have to this bygone divinity?#is the last tree of eden and their Father who preaches about it #correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think… anywhere in the lore is it implied Eden preaches about the afterlife and angels and such #and I KNOWWW we can connect the two because of the name. but I don’t think that’s the vibe #also simon doesn’t believe in Eden (at the very least he very seriously questions it) and I just.
