Annoying (some dialog taken from Empire 2004)
For your Drabble challenge please could you write 32 for Catra and Adora. Looking forward to reading it.
#32: I thought you didn't like cats?
~~~
"Cats or dogs?" Catra asks, her voice smooth in Adora's ear. They're sitting next to each other in a briefing for a diplomatic mission, and the guard's voice is boring; Catra's voice is a welcome distraction.
"Dogs," Adora whispers back.
"DOGS?" Catra screeches. "Why??! They're loud, and slobbery, and disgusting-"
"I don't like cats!" Adora protests.
~~~ They're kicked out of the briefing because of Catra's resounding yell of "I AM LITERALLY HALF A CAT! HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THEM?"
~~~
When Adora's kissing Catra, hot and bright in the chill of the outside air, Catra pulls back and purrs, "I thought you didn't like cats?"
Adora groans and tips her back. "Shut up and kiss me," she pleads, and Catra does just that.
~~~
ahhh i'm guessing this is written in the spop universe? and catra is half cat? idk just swing with it :D. hope you liked it, thank you for the ask!
Hi Allie! Today I've seeing a lot of comments about Louis' hair (so beautiful btw) and all the old memories about L growing his hair so H would feel confortable with himself and I now it's like a popular belief but I'm curious if there's any proof of that. Now when I think about that I see it kind of disrepectful, I mean like minimize Louis' actions and I don't like that pov when every action than someone do is about your partner
Hi anon! I honestly always thought that was a reach haha I mean I donât know, it could be true and that would be very cute, and Louis does seem very supportive of Harry in that sense, so I believe thatâs something he would do. But there isnât any proofs, no. I think people get confused sometimes about what is an actual proof of their relationship versus things we all like to speculate and discuss. They just started growing their hairs together, thatâs all it is, maybe that wasnât even a conscious decision.
Now, saying thatâs somehow disrespectful? Iâm not down for this kind of discussion anon, sorry. Youâre problematizing a simple theory đ„±
Iâm gonna spend my entire day reading. Like... thatâs a valid thing I can choose to do as an adult. Â
milarca replied to your post âAnyway your girl just spent way too much money in the exorcist auction...â
How do you know it was Ben omg ïżœïżœ
Aside from the tweet I linked to in my previous reply, it makes sense that he would be the one able to come in with a monstrous max bid at the last second and take away any chance the rest of us had xD I mean I had my max bid set to what I thought was ridiculously high and with about two seconds left he just slam dunked me into the ebay trash but like... I am 100% cool with it. I want Ben to have that bible because aside from the fact that he loves Marcus just as much as the rest of us if not more, heâs the one who did most (possibly all) of the artwork in it so like... yeah it just feels right that he should have it. xD
I still ended up getting ridiculously lucky though and won the other lot that had one of his season 2 bags and the secondary version of the bible (which I believe is the one that was used in season 2 but Iâm not 100% on that), and also his aspergillum, and a lot that includes Tomasâ rosary which is like???? Yeah I am definitely feeling hashtag blessed right now.
Anyway this is not at all what you asked Iâm sorry Iâm just very excited and almost 100% positive I got into a bidding war with Ben Daniels on ebay today.
Chocolate. What was your first kiss?
âEh, it hasnât happened yet? I come from the city, not a lot of cute guys out there⊠Unless you think slightly less wrinkly glukkons cute, of course. Maybe Iâll find a cute guy- Pffft- hahaha! Couldnât say that with a straight face!â
So.
This was one of the first David Bowie songs I ever heard.
I learned about it from a Resident Evil slash fic that was on FF.net way back in the early 2000s because this was the title.
I love this song lots and lots and lots, itâs so good
I always associated it with the aforementioned slash fic--and now, to my surprise, when I was listening to my iTouch on shuffle, it just occurred to me that this... kinda fits some of the somewhat sinister, dramatic debauchery and darkness of this ship (if you ignore all the other names Bowieâs singing lol).
The NIN remix is really good, too.
The imagery of blood, flesh, and darkness brings to mind something almost sacrificial and consumptive, but itâs told through the context of sensuality. The âhearts filthy lessonâ is both someone and also a thing, a concept that cannot be learned because it âfalls on deaf earsâ.
But thereâs also an element of disguise and trickery here (âWhoâs been wearing Mirandaâs clothes?â). A confusion of identity that is skin-deep, which brings us back to what I said earlier: blood, flesh, and darkness. And yet I canât also help but hear a wistful hopefulness in this song, too: âSomething in our skies / something in our blood.â The singer seems to be hoping for something both greater than the flesh (the divine, hope), as well as something so intrinsically a part of themselves that makes up his existence (âin our bloodâ) that will unite him with someone.
Once you get towards the later end of the lyrics, a more existential aching despair opens up in the song: âOh, if only there was some kind of future / under cerulean skies.â âWill you carry me? I think Iâve lost my way.â âIâm already five years older--Iâm already in my grave.â âWhat a fantastic death abyss--tell the others!â, which all add up to a sort of hysterical acceptance of this darkness and the dire straits the singer finds himself in, while also acknowledging that it is, indeed, a dark, monstrous thing.
By Bowieâs own admission, the lyrics are a tribute to the character of Ramona on the album 1. Outside, from which this song comes. Ramona is a âtyrannical futurist,â and the song itself also allows Bowie to confront his views on âthe ritual creation and degradation of art.â
My input revolved around the idea of ritual artâwhat options were there open to that kind of quasi-sacrificial blood-obsessed sort of art form? And the idea of a neo-paganism developingâespecially in Americaâwith the advent of the new cults of tattooing and scarification and piercings and all that. I think people have a real need for some spiritual life and I think there's great spiritual starving going on. There's a hole that's been vacated by an authoritative religious bodyâthe judaeo-Christian ethic doesn't seem to embrace all the things that people actually need to have dealt with in that wayâand it's sort of been left to popular culture to soak up the leftover bits like violence and sex.
Both Akechi and Renâs popularity as an ace detective and a Phantom Thief respectively can be considered a ritual creation and degradation of art, in a way--they are figures of the public eye, idolized, admired, sought after; they are then torn down, denigrated, and utterly forgotten. Consumed and abandoned. Creating art is a similar process: the art is consumed, admired, adored; itâs torn apart, picked over, analyzed, sometimes kindly, sometimes not--and then itâs discarded. Art and idols, then, are sort of temporary holy grail for people to cling to until the grail itself provides no more use, comfort, salvation, etc.
The âfilthy lessonâ here becomes the grim knowledge that art (and idols) can fill the vacuum of need in our hearts, but ultimately cannot stop the vacuum from continuing. Perhaps even worse, it can also lead to those who consume the art/idol becoming a contributor to said art/idolâs degradation and destruction.
