Is that a K for kitchen?! There’s all sorts of fun mystery wrapped up in this old Sheffield Silverplate butler’s tray. It could be vintage but it may very well actually be antique. It’s so hard to determine an actual date for this one since there isn’t a lot of info on the Sheffield Silver Company. What I do know is that it was made in Brooklyn, NY sometime before the 1960s and that it’s stamped on the back with the Sheffield mark. It’s lovely tarnished appearance makes it a true beauty for both serving and decorating purposes. And that K? Well it could stand for all sorts of things?! I'm having a little bit of fun this morning playing stylist (with a lot of help from @mrs.shenanigans ) to showcase my new rustic butler's trays. This is one of the bigger sizes and I think it has a nice level of rustic charm about it. I can also see this piece sitting on a coffee table with a tall vase , some books and possibly a candle from my friends @lumenandluxe to complete the look. @darrenpalmerofficial said that a tray is to a table, what a rug is to a floor. It helps to define a space and brings random items together. With yhis in mind, I have been working on some new tray design of varying sizes and styles. Made from recycled pallet timber, I think that this particular design has a rustic charm about it and it's not too hard to imagine that this tray could have found it's place in a workshop or toolshed.
