as interesting as ray kurzweil is, his brand of radical futurism has a tendency to get caught up in fascist ideas and like idk he doesn't give enough thought to how the singularity is gonna be a serious privilege exclusive to nation-states/governmental entities/ big-time silicon valley folks who have the resources to pay for such technology... u should watch Ghost in the Shell if u haven't already bc it deals with some of these ideas rly beautifully and its jsut a rly important movie

oh yeah i feel like that’s kind of what happens when you have technology like that, it’s hardly as realistic as its been made to be because nobody can afford it. but i still think it’s pretty crazy. I tried to get into ghost in the shell but i was younger so i never really found it that interesting but maybe i will try it out again
