I use GIMP mainly for my recolours, I have Photoshop but I’m really used to GIMP so I stick with it. 

I am planning on doing a recolour tutorial video soon, i’ve been asked a few times, I have a written tutorial laying around (not posted), but I think it’ll be easier to just show..

Hi! If you don’t mind me asking, how do you take your screenshots for lookbooks? 🥺👉🏼👈🏼 I’ve followed Simblr for a long time, but I haven’t really participated much. I want to be able to show off outfits and Sims I’ve created, but I just don’t know the best way to capture them. Do you take them within cas? And if so, how do you avoid the cas details to the left/right? And lastly, how do you pose them? 🙈 I would so appreciate any time you take to help me out. Tysm in advance!

So I have tried many different ways, and this way was the best for my setup, and it’s a pretty simple way

So I take my screenshots for lookbooks or CC in CAS, it’s just easier for me, I have varying amount of poses that work in CAS, they are associated with a trait and when you click on it, the poses start cycling through. If you are looking for poses, i’d search ‘ts4 poses CAS traits’ and you should find a bunch.

To take the screenshot, I just press Shift+Print Screen buttons, and I go out to photoshop (or any photo editing software, GIMP is a great free one) and I paste the image there and do whatever editing that needs to be done. I then cut out the sim without the CAS details and save the cutout of the sim to its own image file. If you find that some of the CAS details are too close to the sim when you are cutting them out, I use the paint tool and just colour over it with the same colour as the CAS background

Once I’ve done all of that for however many I need, I then paste them onto a bigger image together. I fill the background with the same colour as my CAS background so that it looks like they’re all just standing next to each other naturally.

And that’s it! Other people probably have better ways of doing it, I’ve found this works good for me, sometimes I change it up but I always seem to go back to this way.

Yes, I’m still making stuff! Something large is coming at the end of the week, I can reveal that all the objects, a wallpaper and 2 dresses are finished! I just need to finish off some more clothing items.. but I expect to release it on Friday. Patreons got a sneak peek last week at some finished items.
