Buttress Range
There are several small inset alcoves that provide water as well as a perfect spot to camp. This ridge borders the western side of the valley of ten thousand smokes. The most popular way of entering the valley is by hiking along the base of the buttress range. Hikers can arrange to be dropped off and picked up from the valley with a Valley of ten thousand smokes tour group. Contact the park’s concessionaire Katmailand for fees and more information.
